NORTHERN PAKISTAN

 The North areas (Gilgit-Baltistan) is, perhaps the most spectacular region of Pakistan in terms of its geography and scenic beauty. Here world’s three mightiest mountain ranges: the Karakoram, Hindukush and Himalaya meet. The whole region presents breathtaking views and vibrant landscapes for a nature lover. The program requires the medium level of fitness of tourists.

Itinerary

Day 01 – Arrival to Islamabad

After meeting you from the airport and checking into your hotel, you will be able to take a short tour of Islamabad city with your guide – This will depend on your flight arrival timing.

  • Visit Faisal Mosque

  • Lok virsa Museum/ A cultural heritage of Pakistan from both streams of urban and rural.

  • Islamabad Monument

Overnight in Islamabad

Day 02 - Karakoram Highway – Chilas (12-13 hrs)

  • From early morning we drive in a private bus to join the famous Karakoram Highway, sneaking through some of the Great Mountain Ranges of the world.

Karakoram Highway (KKH) - The development found their greatest physical manifestation with the construction of KKH, built along the path of the caravan routes of the Silk Road from China to Pakistan. A remarkable engineering achievement and it is said to be the highest paved international road. Due to its elevation and difficult conditions in which it was constructed, it is also referred as the "Eighth Wonder of the World”.

  • The journey on the Karakoram Highway is long but equally fascinating to travelers.

Overnight in Chilas.


 

Day03- Chilas – Fairy Meadows/Nanga Parbat – 8126 m

  • Continue driving to Raikot bride (1 hr) from where we shift to 4WD and off road to Tato village (1hr) and then we hike to Fairy Meadows. (3/4hrs)

  • Horse riding is available here; those who are not willing to hike can ride horse to Fairy Meadows.

Fairy Meadow is lush green meadows situated in the foot of impressive Nanga Parbat, the western anchor of Himalayan mountain range. The meadow presents spectacular views around include Nanga Parbat- the 2nd highest peak in Pakistan and 9th in the world ranking.

Day04 – Explore Fairy Meadows

  • At Fairy Meadows you will be able to ride horses to visit Beyal camp and view point. OR

  • You can also do the easy hiking to view point in the shadow of Nanga Parbat and then continue to Base camp if the participants are fit enough, otherwise you will return from the view point.

  • It offers plenty of flexibility; those who prefer a quite relaxing day can stay at the meadows and get mesmerized by the unparallel views.

Overnight at Fairy Meadows cottages.

Day05 - Fairy Meadows – Skardu (8-9 hrs)

  • Trek back to Jhel village & drive with 4WD down to KKH.

  • Drive along the narrow River Indus to Skardu, which is capital of Baltistan region and surrounded by high mountains.

  • Check in Hotel & rest.

Day 06 – Explore Skardu

Full day explore around Skardu and following places will be visited.

  • Visit to Shigar valley & Shigar Fort

  • Lower Katchura Lake

  • Upper Katchura Lake

  • Satpara Lake - If time permits.

Day07- Skardu – Hunza ( 6-7 hrs)

An early drive back along the Indus River to Karakoram Highway and then down to Gilgit – the capital town of Gilgit –Baltistan province from where we turn North to Hunza valley.

  • Stopping at Rakaposhi view point en route.

  • Explore Karimabad town – surrounded with several high mountains of 7000m, included Ultar Sar, Hunza peak, Lady Finger, Diran, and Golden peak.

  • Visit of Baltit Fort – A 700 years old fort was once used as residence of Mir of Hunza.

Day09 –Around Hunza

Full day to explore around upper Hunza valley

  • Visit of Gulmit and Passu valley, passing long Attabad lake en route.

  • Visit to famous Passu suspension bridge.

  • Visit to Borit Lake

  • Visit to Passu glacier & Passu valley

Afternoon return to Karimabad and visit Altit Fort, another ancient Fort more older than Baltit Fort. After a brief visit continue upward to Duikar village – situated high above Hunza valley. It’s where one experience sweeping view of the Hunza valley and also a finest place to catch the glimpse of sunset and sun rise on snow cape peaks.

Day10- Hunza - Islamabad ( 12 hours)

Join back to KKH

  • En route stop at junction point where three great mountains ranges meet, the karakoram, the Himalaya and the Hindukush.

  • We take summer short way through Babusar high pass

Day11 — Departure from Pakistan

The cost depends on the number of tourists in the group
